Privacy Policy
This policy describes how Dual Canvas (“we”, “us”) handles information when you visit dual-canvas.com and use our collaborative drawing service. We aim to be transparent so you can make informed choices—including if you apply or use advertising programs such as Google AdSense on this site.
1. Who we are
Dual Canvas is operated as a web application that lets users create collaborative drawing sessions in the browser. For privacy-related requests, contact us at hello@dual-canvas.com.
2. Information we collect
- Usage & technical data. Standard server and browser data may include IP address, device type, browser type, approximate region derived from IP, timestamps and pages or routes viewed.
- Session & real-time content. When you join a canvas room, drawing data (strokes, shapes, related metadata) may be processed in memory and relayed to other participants in that session via our realtime layer so collaboration works. Treat anything you draw in a shared room as visible to others with the link or room access.
- Account details (if enabled). If you later enable authentication, we will collect the account information you provide (for example email) and describe that processing in an updated version of this policy.
3. Cookies & similar technologies
We use cookies and similar storage where necessary to operate the site (for example remembering your cookie choice). If you opt in to non-essential cookies, additional cookies may be set for advertising or analytics partners.
You can change your mind later by clearing site data for Dual Canvas in your browser; we will show the cookie banner again when no valid preference is stored.
4. Advertising (Google AdSense & similar)
We may use Google AdSense or other advertising partners to show ads. These partners may use cookies or similar technologies to measure performance, prevent fraud, and personalize or limit how often you see ads. Google explains how it uses cookies for ads in its advertising policy documentation (for example: Google’s advertising cookies overview).
Where required by law—especially for users in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or other regions with consent rules—you may need to use additional consent tools (such as a Google-certified consent management platform) alongside the choices offered on this site. We will update this policy and the site as our implementation evolves.
You can manage ad personalization for Google services through Google Ads Settings / My Ad Center.
5. How we use information
We use information to provide and improve the service, secure our systems, understand usage in aggregate, comply with law, and—with your consent where required—deliver and measure advertising.
6. Sharing
We may share information with infrastructure vendors (hosting, DNS), analytics or advertising partners, and authorities when required by law. Drawing payload data may flow through our realtime providers as needed to run collaborative rooms.
7. Retention
We retain information only as long as needed for the purposes above, unless a longer period is required by law. Ephemeral session data may be discarded after a room is inactive or according to our server retention settings.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. No method of transmission over the Internet is completely secure.
9. International transfers
If you access the service from outside the country where our servers or vendors operate, your information may be processed in other countries with different data-protection laws.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain processing of your personal information, or to object to processing or port data. Contact us using the email above. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
11. Children
Dual Canvas is not directed to children under 13 (or the age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
12. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version on this page and update the “Last updated” date above.
This policy is provided for transparency and does not constitute legal advice. Review with qualified counsel for your situation.
